We’re a small crew roasting coffee down on the Mornington Peninsula — inspired by salt air, slow mornings, and the kind of rituals that make a day better. Every batch is hand-roasted, packed fresh, and grounded in the rhythms of the coast.

Our beans come from farms and cooperatives we believe in — people who grow with intention and give back to their communities. From there, it’s over to us. We roast in small batches, dial in every profile, and make sure what ends up in your cup is smooth, honest, and easy to love.

James loves his coffee — but not the price tag that came with great quality. So in 2018, he teamed up with a close mate (and exceptional roaster) to create a blend that was delicious, versatile, and affordable.

Inspired by a local surf break, Big Left was born on the Mornington Peninsula — crafted to bring the good stuff home. No fluff, just great small batch coffee made easy.
